HOW DO YOU TREAT YOUR PEOPLE?

HOW DO YOU TREAT YOUR PEOPLE?

Who are My people?
My people start with my immediate Family, my extended family, my relatives, the folds of believers, my tribe, friends, colleagues and then my Nation.

How far can you go to protect your people; Your family, relatives, home and your nation? How committed are you to your people? Hope you are not selfish about your people for greed of money, position, title and wealth?

Using Esther As Our Case Study For This Article

"6. For how can I endure to see MY PEOPLE AND MY FAMILY slaughtered and destroyed?”

Who was Esther?
She was a slave and an orphan brought up by Mordecai in Babylon. She was pretty, well trained and loyal to her uncle. Her humble and trained life helped her take over the throne of Vashti. Pride caused the dethroning of the Queen before Esther. Queen Esther was living in immunity as a Queen but used her position to help her people by saving them from nationwide destruction.

Esther was a woman who made history till date when discussing the topic, 'My People'. She protected the name, "Jews - My people" as her name. She took many risks to save her People from Haman and his evil plot. Even after the death of Haman, she still went ahead to protect the lineage of Jews by fighting the decree made by Haman.

She Cares
She cared for her people regardless of her position and title. She went the extra mile to save them, even against the law of the land. How passionate are you about your people? Do you care for others as your family? Most of us are good and kind to outsiders but heartless to our people. You can help others get a job but not your relative or tribal person. You bless others but no believers in your church have a record of your gifts or good gestures, that was not who Esther was, every one felt her touch one way and the other, her care was known to all.

She's Obedience
Esther was so obedient to her uncle before and after her enthronement. She was the same Esther despite being the Queen. She cares so much about her father figure that she couldn't disobey him even when it entails risking her life. Mind you, this wasn't god-fatherism but being respectful no matter how highly placed you become. Are you still controllable after becoming highly placed? Do you still give attention to your people who sacrifice for you being where you are today? How obedient are you to your parents after your elevation? Who do you now listen to? Esther still remains obedient to her Uncle even as the sitting Queen. To be promoted isn't a replacement to being obedient.

A Risk Taker.
Every step about Esther was risky.
A slave going to a beauty contest.
A slave serving as Queen breaks law to see the king.
A slave and Queen who pleaded with the king to overrule his decree.
What risk are you taking concerning your people? What sacrifice are you giving to show you still remain with your people? Taking risk to save your people is a sacrifice to prolong your people because that's the main reason you are there.

They Listen To Esther
They obeyed her when she made a decree to fast and pray for their lives. Why? Because they knew how caring she was about them. Can you give an instruction to your people and it will be obeyed? Does anyone care about you being in that position? Is anyone happy that you are in that position or do they regret ever having someone in your position? They can listen to you only when they trust you and find you caring.

Your Qualities As A Leader
How Do You Treat Your PEOPLE?
How many risks have you taken for your people? How many times have you stood up for your loved ones and your relatives? Do they feel your care? Have you stood on their behalf? When was the last time you listened and Obed those who helped you before your lifting? What are your people saying about you? Can you walk back home after your tenure and be welcome by your people? It's time to care for your people, speak for them, fight their fight, represent them well. This is the truth, when you do this for them, you are building a legacy for yourself. When you do this, you create a standard for whosoever will represent them later and when you do this, God will find you a faithful steward. Stand up for your people.
