Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 49, Day 5, Thursday, 4th December, 2025 TOPIC: APPRECIATION DAY: Joy In Persecution (5)

TOPIC: APPRECIATION DAY: Joy In Persecution (5)

One Year Bible Reading:
Daniel 3 - 4
1 John 5

MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 136:1-2.
"1. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever."

BIBLE READING:
James 1:2-3.
"2. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience."

Thinking Point:
Persecution as Christians should bring us Joy for we are known for Christ.

Our joy will never be diluted or tampered with in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Today, in the world, it's not news that Christians are being persecuted for the sake of Christ. Segregation in work places, environment and being denied rightful position. Jesus made it known while on earth that persecution will come our way according to John 15:20
"Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also."

Jesus went on to say in John 16:33,
"33. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

In order words, we should cheer up when going through those persecutions. Apostle James said, we should count it all Joy when faced with opposition for the Gospel. When you are antagonised for what you believe in, we should be joyful. We are not to start complaining or grumbling against God for it is His will.
After the disciples faced persecution from the authorities in Acts 4:23-24, the scriptures said,
"23. And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. 24. And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:"

They began to praise God and prayed. They were joyful that they were persecuted for Christ sake. Be joyful for what you are passing through in the name of Christ. In your place of worship, places of work and environment, as long as it's for Christ sake.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
