Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 37, Day 3 Tuesday, 10th September 2024. TOPIC: WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST: He Bridged Gaps (3).

TOPIC: WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST: He Bridged Gaps (3).

MEMORY VERSE:
John 14:12.
"12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

BIBLE READING:
John 8:5-8.
"5. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?"
"6. This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not."
"7. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
"8. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground."

Thinking Point:
As believers, we aren't called into criticism, but to bridge the gap and let peace reign.

As we walk into this new day, may we become the solution that brings peace and calmness to our world in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

Jesus is our " Look Up To", the one we should reflect on, walk the way He walk, speak the way we speak and live His life on earth, if this is the case, that means we ought to know how He lived and what He did while on earth for he said, "and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.", we need to know those works He did so we can do greater than Him, which is the reason for this week study. The main purpose of Jesus on earth was to bridge the gap between us and the father, to be that Shepard that brings the sheep back to God. He perfected this while on the cross, he finished it and today, we are with God, Thanks To Jesus for this precious sacrifice.

From our Bible Reading today, let's see how Jesus bridged the gap. A woman, caught in adultery and was brought to Jesus for judgment. They gave a detailed description of her crime expecting Jesus to crucify her straightforwardly. They went far to give Moses' judgment concerning such sin but Jesus, bridge the gap with a simple request, "and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

He never said, he that has never committed adultery, but he that is without sin should cast the stone first. Let quickly dig into what Jesus said here, three parties were involved in this case, those who caught the woman, the woman herself and Jesus, so Jesus was simply saying this case can only be judge by someone without sin among us, lo and behold, only Jesus was without sin, only Jesus can be the judge of them all. Yes, the woman sinned, those who caught are also sinners but Jesus was sinless, so the judge declared the judgment without questioning. Let's noticed this, He never pinpoint them as sinners nor called any of them a sinner, He bridge the gap between the accused and her accuser. As believers, we all need to imitate Jesus when situation occur, we are not a judge neither are we sinless. We are not to take side but to make peace between brethrens, even when intervening with unbelievers. Wherever we are, we should be a peacemaker, one who bridge the gap not see all things with the eyes of criticism. We should be that person they beaconed on when a crisis needs to be settled. Judgment is not to make one less and exalt the other. We are to bridge the gap and make all ends in peace. If we are to live like Jesus lived we will need to throw away biased judgment. Jesus is a bridge builder to the world, likewise we should do the same.
