Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 40, Day 2 Monday, 30th September 2024 TOPIC: RECOGNIZING MY HELPER: Helpers Are Close By (2).
TOPIC: RECOGNIZING MY HELPER: Helpers Are Close By (2).
MEMORY VERSE:
Isaiah 41:6.
"6. They helped every one his neighbour; so and every one said to his brother, "Be of good courage."
BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 5:1-4.
"1. Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper."
"2. And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife."
"3. And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy."
"4. And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel."
Thinking Point:
Most times we are closer to our helpers but our lack of sensitivity or pride deprived us of accessing or recognising them.
This week is blessed with heavenly blessings, men and women assigned for this week's help shall locate us all in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
Many dwell, live, work and move around their helper but couldn't recognize them. Many see their helpers as friends, spouses, brothers, slaves, workers, colleagues or servants but couldn't identify them as helpers. Some see themselves as helpers to their helper not knowing they, themselves, really need the help most.
Father Abraham thought he was helping the angels not knowing they were there to help him. Can you recognize your helper when you see them? Your helper may be your long-time associate but since you refuse to see them as a helper, help is inactivated.
Isaiah speaks, from our memory verse, saying, "They helped every one his neighbour;". Most times our helpers are the neighbors we don't even relate with. They are strangers we refuse to welcome. Some are your colleagues in the office, members in our worship center but we think less of them as a helper and keep praying to God for help.
The impotent man in John 5:6-7, couldn't identify the present help standing before him. He was still expecting the trouble of the water which is once a year. This is how many of us are. What we are praying for is very much around us but we couldn't see.
Moses, while leading the Israelites out of Egypt, used the rod in his hand to perform many wonders but never knew it has the ability to part the red sea until God told him, Exo. 14:15-16.
Naaman and his wife were so sensitive to recognise their helper as the slave in their home. 2 Kings 5:2-4. This maid was captured as a captive from the same land of Israel. One would have asked, "Where was that prophet when we invaded the city and captured you? But No, they recognized her as the needed helper with the needed information, and Naaman went and he was healed of his leprosy. Some of us see our helper, as slaves, servants, cleaners, gatemen and Nanny while they are ordained helpers from God. Being sensitive about everyone around you is a better way to connect with helpers. The help we all cried for isn't that far, they are closer than we think.
Good day and God Bless you.
