TOPIC: TYPES OF MENTALITY: Ingratitude Mentality (7)

One Year Bible Reading:
1 Samuel 26 - 28, Luke 22: 1 - 38.

MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 4:8.
"8. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

BIBLE READING:
Luke 19:20-21.
"20. And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:"
"21. For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow."

Thinking Point:
When you are not grateful for the little you have or received, you can't be joyful when you have more than enough.

Brethren, an ingrate mentality breaks the back of the camel. When you are not grateful for what you've been given it will be hard to get more in and out of life. When you are not pleased with whatever you are given which you never worked for, it will be hard to receive help from men and God. An ingrate person ends as a helpless person. When you are not appreciative of the little you can't receive more. What's your mentality about receiving? Do you commonize what you receive or show gratitude for being remembered to be blessed?

One of the reasons for ingratitude is covetousness, when you expect more than you are qualified for. Another reason is selfishness, not considering others but yourself alone. The third reason for ingratitude is comparison, comparing yourself with others who are more qualified than you do.

The third steward was an ingrate who didn't appreciate what his ability deserves, one talent. He was comparing himself with those with three (3) and five (5) abilities, knowing that he couldn't achieve what they've achieved. He was so selfish that he never consider his master who gave him the talent to work with in order to be trained. Brethren, if he were to be given three (3) or five (5) talent, he would have done the same with what he did with one talent. Ingratitude blocks increase and productivity, it sends helpers away and make one useless.

What you have today, how grateful are you with it? Where you are, are you appreciative of it or you keep comparing yourself with others who have put in much more than you do? Do you see reasons to appreciate everyone who bless and helped you or you keep complaining of not being helped enough? Ingratitude makes one belittle every help and resist men from helping you.

The ten (10) lepers in Luke 17:12 - 19 were healed but only one came to show gratitude and he received a seal upon his healing, all nine (9) were ingrate and weren't made whole.

Brethren, are you sure your ingratitude mentality isn't the reason help has refused to come your way? What do you do after being helped, do you show gratitude or do you commonize the help? Change that ingrate mentality before it separates you from your helpers.

Good morning, and God bless you.
