MEMORY VERSE:
Philippians 4:8.

BIBLE READING:
Proverbs 29:23
"23. A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit."
Thinking Point:
Pride mentality Relegates while humility exult.
It's another Monday, we receive the strength to journey through the week unhurt and successful in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
Our focus on mentality today is, Pride Mentality, in order word, we can say being boastful. This mentality has little to do with age but power, position, wealth and arrogance. What is pride in the context of boasting?
1. Faith without acting is Pride.
James 2:17-18, 24.
"17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."
"18. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.'
"24. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."
When declaring in faith, "I will do this and do that" and never act towards it, it becomes pride of life, boasting about what you can't achieve only to impress or suppress others, this is pride. Faith is declaring plus acting while pride is speaking without acting. When you declare to show that you are not what you are, it's pride. Search yourself for this symptom.
2. Being boastful of once achievement without God.
1 Corinthians 4:7.
"7. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?"
Apostle Paul said, "I am who I am by the grace of God..." Pride is removing God out of your accomplishment, seeing your achievements as your ability without referencing God. Yes, you are great, yes, you are the boss, yes, you are anointed but can the tree live without the root? Can a house stand without a foundation? When you see God as secondary in your achievement you are full of pride. Remember Nebuchadnezzar, just a statement showed his pride and that brought about his downfall, Daniel 4.
Deuteronomy 8:17-18.
"17. And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth."
"18. But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."
Always remember that, we are nothing without God. If you can't control death, situations and circumstance, you should as well reference the one who controls them as God who gave you the power to accomplish what you've achieved. Pride mentality takes God away from the equation, forgetting how we got to where we are and how God has helped us.
Which of these two is synonymous with your lifestyle? Telling people what you know you can't do to make them feel less of themselves and taking the place of God concerning your accomplishment? Some men will say to their wives, "without me in your life you are nothing and your family would have amount to nothing" you may be on your way down while that wife of yours is going to the next level above you. See God in all you do and reference Him as the maker not an audience and you will be humble.
Good morning, and God bless you.
