Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 20, Day 7, Saturday, 17th May 2025 TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Don't Be Silent, Speak Up (14)

TOPIC: LESSONS FROM SAUL AND DAVID: Don't Be Silent, Speak Up (14)

One Year Bible Reading:
1 King 20 - 21, John 8: 12 - 30.

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 11:12.
"12. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

BIBLE READING:
1 Samuel 17:45-47.
"45. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands."

Thinking Point:
Decree and declare what you picture in the Spiritual not what you see in the physical.

Victory or defeat starts from the abundance of our heart, voice out by our mouth. The spiritual commands the physical. Every situation has a voice so when you allow that voice to subdue your voice you lose the battle. When the devil came to tempt Jesus in Luke 4, every word of the devil was thrown back to him by Jesus. When the devil speaks up, Jesus speaks back to him until he leaves Jesus alone and loses the physical battle. What you say matters when those negative thoughts drop in your heart. Your response to those frustration matters to your victory or defeat. Even God said, 'as I hear you say, so will I do' Numbers 14:28. When you stop speaking you start to loosen the battle.

Goliath began to speak derogating words, discouraging words, insult and mockery words to disarm David's spirit. He belittled him and defied his God. But David didn't fall for his strategy, he opened his mouth and began to declare what God will do through him. In the world of occultist, they call it incantation, yes, that was what David was doing. Declaring the victory of God upon Goliath, killing his spirit, weakening his strength and gaining advantage over him and it did work.

Brethren, what are you saying to that situation before you? Are you accepting defeat without fighting? Do you give in to that threat? Is your mouth closed because you have concluded that the battle is won by the devil? That is not what God ordained for you. Listen to this, whatever comes our way is what God has predestined us to overcome if only we can recognise the weapon provided for us, our mouth and the word therein. David talked back boldly to Goliath, a man Saul couldn't face. It does matter how many people have been defeated by that battle, you can defeat it hands down if you will apply the principles of speaking what God said about that situation. I can't remain poor, I will be wealthy and be great. I am not defeated I am a conqueror. This business will not die, it will grow and take care of my family, it will be enlarged beyond the shores of this country. I can't die of sickness because I'm carrying the DNA of Jesus, the healer. Use your mouth. Imitate Jesus's principle against the devil. Imitate David's principle against Goliath. The battle is not over until you give in. Declare what you desire not what you are seeing.
