Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 26, Day 3, Tuesday, 24th June, 2025 TOPIC: ASKING, SEEKING AND KNOCKING: Release What You Can Let Go (3)

TOPIC: ASKING, SEEKING AND KNOCKING: Release What You Can Let Go (3)

One Year Bible Reading:
Ezra 9 - 10, Acts 11: 1 - 18

MEMORY VERSE:
Matthew 7:7.
"7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"

BIBLE READING:
Acts 5:1-3.
"1. But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2. And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Thinking Point:
Gift has no measure. Give according to your ability not according to the requested. Give what you can let go.

Beloved, don't fall into being a prey of waste or complaining after giving, it has no reward. Many have put themself in debts they are unable to pay in the name of helping others. Hello, helping or blessing people shouldn't burden your family and you. Give according to what you have not according to what is asked. Get this, If you have it all and you can let go without repayment, that's fine, but don't give what you can't let go. Don't promise what you will need to rethink about. Nobody will arrest you when you give what you have, it's not a crime. Before you give it, it’s yours, after giving it, it doesn't belong to you again so know what you are doing when given, helping and assisting someone. You know, I once helped someone with some cash years back who promised to return it two months later. After eleven months I asked him, the fellow replied, "Bros, how much now? You are more than that amount, you don't need to be asking for such cash again”, believe you me, till today, the cash wasn't returned back. When you are giving or helping people, even making a vow or a pledge, don't do it to favour them, consider yourself first, if you can let go of that request. Whatever seed you sow and complain about has no reward, get this right.

Ananias and Sapphire were willing to give but they would have given what they were willing to let go. No crime in selling a property for ₦35million and you decided to give ₦3milloin by explaining to the Apostle, “this is what we have to give, although, this isn't the amount we sold the land but this is what we can release to God”, finish. But they were trying to please the Apostles, gain recognition and this led to their death. Give what you can release without complaining or grumbling.

The widow of Zarephath had the right to release her last meal to Prophet Elijah or not, but she did according to her ability and her ability was to release all without complaint. We recorded from that passage that her store never dried, they all ate till the end of the famine, why? Because she gave what she could afford and God did bless her in return. Brethren, give what you can afford. Mind you, you don't need to be stingy when you know you have the ability to give it all without a negative impact on you. But above all, make sure the poor and the needy don't cry to you without attending to them.

Good morning, and God bless you.
