Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 27, Day 6, Friday, 4TH July, 2025 TOPIC: FAITHFULNESS PRECEDES FULFILMENT: Be Contented (6)

TOPIC: FAITHFULNESS PRECEDES FULFILMENT: Be CONTENTED (6)

One Year Bible Reading:
Job 3 - 5, Acts 17: 1 - 15.

MEMORY VERSE:
Nehemiah 9:7-8
"7. You are the lord God, who chose Abram and brought him from Ur of the Chaldeans and renamed him Abraham. 8. When he had proved himself faithful, you made a covenant with him to give him and his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites, and Girgashites. And you have done what you promised, for you are always true to your word."

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 14:21-23.
"21. And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. 22. And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23. That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

Thinking Point:
Being contended is a proof of depending on God even when it's not enough.

We thank God it's Friday again, the last working day of the week. Today, the blessings of the Lord shall rest on our efforts to yield profit in Jesus' name, Amen.

We have been discussing what enhances the fulfilment of the promises of God in our lives since Sunday. Today, we are moving further to Being Contended with what we have. You know many don't remain where they were but they keep moving backward the more because they are not satisfied and never find reasons to appreciate God for what they have, so they turned to what we call "Fine Baggers". They will tell all sorts of lies to get what you have from you. Those people are not ready to activate the fulfilment of God's promises over their lives. Being content isn't the mind of "I don't want anything more than what I have now", No, but using and accepting what you have to get what you want. Not taking what belongs to others so you can have enough but being satisfied with what you have while you depend on God to add to it. When you are not contended you can't control what you have neither can you use it rightly the way God wants, so He will not bring to pass those promises until we learn the habit of being contended.

Abraham went to war to rescue captives of five countries and came back with their plunders. Because of his contentment he refuses to claim the plunder that doesn't belong to him. He said, "lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich". He was simply saying, I am content with what I have, I don't need to deprive you of what is yours.

Can we do such a thing? Are we that faithful to give what belongs to others that's in our care or we do everything in our power to make sure they don't get it back or even pray they forget it in our custody. We are not ready for the fulfilment of God's promises if that's who we are. Can people entrust us with their properties and get it back without stories? How content are you with your spouse, salary, wages, and your leisure life? Can God or man trust you with resources? These things are the reasons for the delay of God's promises in our lives. It's time to check ourselves and retrace our path back to God.

Good morning, and God bless you.
