Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 29, Day 6, Friday, 18th July, 2025 TOPIC: BE STILL: Waiting On God (6)

TOPIC: BE STILL: Waiting On God (6)

One Year Bible Reading:
Psalms 11 - 16, Acts 25: 13 - 26:1.

MEMORY VERSE:
John 14:1
"1. Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me."

BIBLE READING:
Isaiah 40:31.
"31. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Thinking Point:
Be Still means waiting on God. No one who waits on God ever regrets the decision.

It's another Friday to the glory of God, awesome God has done us well, we ascribe all praises to Him in Jesus Name, Amen.

What does 'Be Still' imply, waiting for God to respond through prayer and fasting. Being still is what we do when we don't know what else to do. It means relaxing your mind to know how God will do it. Prophet Habakkuk said in Habakkuk 2:1-2.
"1. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it."

Waiting on God is seeking His face through prayers and fasting, being attentive to His instructions about the matter on ground. Be still to hear how He will want you to act and what to say. They that wait upon the Lord, means that they settled down to know the mind of God through prayers and fasting, they will renew their strength, in order words, they will reserve their strength for better things ahead than to be disturbed here and there. They won't act unwise but wisely. They won't jump into conclusion but wait till the mind of God is known.

Philippians 4:6-7.
'6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.'

It means speaking to God and putting the worries away. Allowing the peace of God to saturate your heart and mind through prayers. We are fond of being disturbed after prayers, still feeling as if God has not done it but when we remain still, quiet, allow peace to take its place only then can we hear Him speak of the solution. Apostle Paul said, "Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving..." If we can do the following, then we are on our way out of the circumstances. Can you imagine Daniel being anxious in the Lion's den? Joseph being troubled in the dungeon? Or David in the forest when King Saul was after him? No, we wait on Him with our prayers and fasting then can we walk into peace of mind, living without anxiety. Be still and speak to God concerning the challenges and He will show you the way out, He will speak up and not remain silent to that situation. Are you praying already with faith? That's the next step to be still.

Good morning, and God bless you.
