Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 33, Day 1, Sunday, 10th August, 2025 TOPIC: A WET WOOD: Are You A Wet Or Dry Wood?

TOPIC: A WET WOOD: Are You A Wet Or Dry Wood?

One Year Bible Reading:
Psalm 85 - 88, Romans 12: 1 - 16.

Memory Verse:
Prov. 26:20
"20 Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases."

BIBLE READING:
Levi. 6:12-13
"12. And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. 13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out."

Thinking Point:
For fire to glow and consume effectively, there must be dry wood.

I welcome you to this series of "Wet Wood". Wood is the secret to a burning fire. Every fire needs wood and not just any wood but a dry wood in order to produce the needed fire. No matter the numbers of wood, if they are wet, they are useless in creating fire. So, for a fire to be effective, dry wood is very important. That's why you see our aged parents trying to move the wood away from the rain in order to enjoy effective fire. This is my question: Are you a wet wood or a dry wood?

God instructed Moses to let the priest know that there should be a constant fire on the altar. The priest needs to get woods that can produce fire. It's their duty to select a dry wood not just any wood, wet wood can't bring constant fire on the offering altar. In other words, wet wood is useless on the altar. It brings waste of effort, waste of time and kills the fire.

On the altar of Christianity, are you a wet wood? Many believers today carry Bibles, go to church, even pray in tongues but they are wet wood which can't give effective fire. Do you keep the fire of God burning? Can your wood sustain the Spirit of God? I mean, can God trust you to extend His fire to others?

Lord Jesus, my desire is to be a dried wood that keeps the fire burning, so help me in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Good morning, and God bless you.
