TOPIC: Why Going To Church?: Share Burdens (5)
One Year Bible Reading:
Psalm 119: 1 - 112, 1 Corinthians 6.
MEMORY VERSE:
Psalm 122:1
“1. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
BIBLE READING:
Acts 4:32, 34-37.
"32. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. .... 34. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35. And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. 36. And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, 37. Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet."
Thinking Point:
"Church is a place to bear one another burden, render and receive help."
Today, our efforts will not be in vain, we shall eat the fruit of our labour In Jesus name, Amen.
Why do we go to church as Saint? We appear before God in order to bear one anothers burden. The gathering of the Saint isn't to pray and dance alone but to attend to one anothers needs. In the house of God needs are met not by God coming down but through the same member in the church. King Solomon said in Proverbs 27:17,
"17. Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friendx, this begins in the church. We gather to worship God and to minister to one another in the area of needs. We pray, yes, we sing and dance, yes, we give offering to God, yes but we are to solve one anothers problem too.
In the days of the Apostles we read how they all live in oneness, selling their properties to care for one another but in our days, we oppress each other in the same church with what we have, we care less if they are in need or not. We make it feel as if they are lazy or they are sinners, that's not why we are in church. Hear me and hear me good, you are bless to be a blessing to those in need in your church. Many churches practice tribalism, if you are not from the same state you can't be helped or assisted, that's not why we are in church. When you have an opportunity of vacancy, do you remember your church member at all? Before you sell that properties of yours do you think of how it can be a blessing to that unit worker in your department? You have car but you can't help any member of your church after service. You look down on others because you are more blessed than them. Apostle Paul said in Galatians 6:10,
"10. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
It should start in the church, your company, your department in church, that needy family, that's where you start with that opportunity. We are not called to oppress others with what we have but to lift one another up. When next to find yourself in church look for a burden to lift and not put a burden on others.
Good morning, and God bless you.
