Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 33, Day 2, Monday, 11th August, 2025 TOPIC: A WET WOOD: WHO IS A WET WOOD? (2)

TOPIC: A WET WOOD: WHO IS A WET WOOD? (2)

One Year Bible Reading:
Psalm 89 - 9, Romans 12: 17 -

Memory Verse:
Prov. 26:20
"20 Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases."

Bible Reading:
Leviticus 6:12
"12. And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings."

Thinking Point:
A wet wood is a wood that hinders the fire from burning.

Happy new working day to everyone, this week is opened with goodness for all needs being met in Jesus name, Amen.

Wet wood is rampant within believers in our generation. Christians who are not available for the use of God can be termed a wet wood; someone who finds it difficult to do the things of God, who finds the Gospel irritating. If the word of God is a no go area for you, when you are a thorn in the flesh of your spouse or your boss is not satisfied with your services, such an attitude qualifies you as a wet wood. Someone who keeps finding fault in everything done in the church, place of work, family, who is not ready to lift a hand or to create a difference, is that wet wood this message is referred to. You keep seeing the bad aspect of everyone but nothing is bad on your own side. When everyone tries to avoid you anywhere you are and you think it's respect, sorry, you are that wet wood being avoided by dried wood.

The priest, when making sure the fire on the altar keeps burning, searches for a dry wood, an available and competent wood that will enhance the fire. He separates the dry from the wet wood. He selects the available and useful wood in order to fulfill God's giving instructions on the altar. When your boss prefers giving others your responsibility, check your usefulness in that office. When your spouse prefers an outsider for a home discussion, are you sure you're still a dried wood? In your church, when others keep distancing themselves from you, it might be your bad influence that's presenting you as wet wood.

God is in search of dry wood who will be available for fire on the altar. Not only services in the house of God qualifies you before God but every area of your life. Your family, work place, environment, place of worship, all these places are what determine the type of wood you are. Listen, God wants us to live a life that will point people to Him, not a life that will point others to the devil. Which wood are you? Wet or dry wood?

Good morning, and God bless you.
