BIBLE READING:
Psalms 121:1.
"1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help."

Thinking Point:
Where our gaze is defined if we are helped or not.

A wonderful Sunday to everyone. I see the Lord making us this week with the might of His power in Jesus Mighty name, Amen

The question before us this week is why am I not enjoying Help? Why the lack of help despite my walk with God. Why has help eluded me? There are many reasons which can lead to this but as God will be speaking to us individually, I believe that our eyes will be open to those reasons and we will begin to enjoy help starting from this week in Jesus name, Amen.
God judges us by the thought of our heart, "as a man thinks so is he," Proverbs 23:7. When our thought focuses on man rather than God, He leaves such to experience the disappointment of man. When we put man first ahead of God, He steps backward to take the back seat.

David said, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help." In this passage what does he mean when he says, "The Hills"? The hills mean man, people in Power, those who promise you that job, that promotion, a brighter future which is not in their power. The hills are part of what God created in the world. The hills may look bigger, higher, and look promising but the hill is not God, it's part of God's creation. David thought he would enjoy help from Saul, from Laban and the rest but little did he know that they are hills which can't help except God helped. The help promised by man can't be possible without God. When our focus is to the hill we miss the help of the God that created the hills. When man promises you and you can't look back to God to perfect it, such help will lead to helplessness. Do you notice when man promises you, you focus on the promise and let down your guard? Sometimes we abandon what we have at hand to focus on the promised help which may not later come through? So when the help doesn't materialise we feel disappointed, we start thinking of what we've lost due to the fact that we hoped on the promises. The source of help is God not man. Psalms 118:9, says, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes." When you see that promise as the source of your help God let you be until you turn back to Him. Trusting in man is one of the reasons for lack of help. Can you shift your attention to God and not man? No matter the promise man made, put God above it, don't make the man the focus. Men are prone to fail many times only God will not fail. Look up to God the creator of the hills and everything not what He created and help will locate you in Jesus name, Amen.
