Thinking Point:
Remembering the good acts of others and repaying them extends good acts.

Welcome to this new week still in the month of Liberty. Whatever area we may be experiencing captivity, God is liberating us totally in Jesus' Precious name, Amen.

This week, we are taking a case study on David Heart, what he longs for, what his desires were, what runs through his heart? David isn't a man that loves to please God alone, No, he cares about men, the people he governs. He is a leader that cares about the whereabouts of those around him. No wonder God said of Him in Psalms 78:70, 72,
"70. He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:"
"72. So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands."

He cares for the flocks under his care. He fed them according to the integrity of his heart. Many believers have repeated slang today, saying, "I fear nobody except God". Yes, that's true God is over all. But that isn't the reason to act wickedly towards others. It's our duty to care for one another, to look over those we are leading and those around us.

David was a King who went through hell under the leadership of King Saul. He couldn't live safely in the city because King Saul wanted him dead in order to give the throne of Israel to Jonathan. But here was Jonathan who gave the symbols of kingship to David willingly, 1 Samuel 18:4. He loved David with His soul and made sure he rescued him from his father's schemes.

Now, David was seated on the same throne of Israel which Jonathan would be sitting on, and He remembered the act of Jonathan and not that of Saul. David remembers the good done by Jonathan not the evil done by King Saul.

How often do we hold onto the negative act of man instead of their good act? How often do we act against those who did us well because of their parents' wrong doing?

King David said, "...., that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan sake? Do you remember those who sacrifice their lives, gift, position or title for you to be where you are? Didn't you prove that you are better than them and that's why you're where you are? How ingrate have we been to reward those who sacrifice for us? David remembered Jonathan's sacrifice which made him the King of Israel.

Who do you need to show kindness for their sacrifice in the past? It may be your parents, friends, colleagues, father's friend or neighbour, it's time to be on the look out for them. This week, remember someone who helped you in time past and do something special for them in your ability. David has a heart that remembers the good acts of people and rewards them, let's do the same.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
