TOPIC: DAVID'S HEART: What Are We Sowing? (7)
One Year Bible Reading:
Jeremiah 3 - 4
2 Thessalonians 3: 1 - 18
MEMORY VERSE:
Psalms 89:20.
"20. I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:"
BIBLE READING:
2 Samuel 9:7
"7. And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually."
Thinking Point:
Kindness is a fruit reaped from past seeds sown.
May we enjoy the kindness of men this day and forever in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
David searched for who to reward for the sacrifice of Jonathan. He fetched out Mephibosheth from Lodebar and exalted him to sit with the Princes. His kindness towards him changed his position and title. He restored all the fortune of his grandfather to him, elevated him above his peers, why? Because of the sacrifice of Jonathan, his father. How I wish we could see the reaction of King Saul? Jonathan saw what God had embedded in David and he nurtured it, protected it and encouraged him also. Jonathan was selfless towards David. He disagreed with his father about David and revealed his father's mind without keeping any secrets away from David. David remembered all these, and fulfilled his promises to Jonathan by favouring Mephibosheth.
This is my point today, can others show our children kindness because of us? Can anyone remember us and search for our lineage to help them? Mephibosheth was five (5) years old when his father died but many years later he reaped the fruit of his father's seed, can that be said of i and you? What seeds are we sowing today? Are you not trying to deny others what belongs to them rather than helping them to become whom God ordained them to be? Many of us are going through some challenges today because of what our parents did in the past. Some parents have no regard for others, they don't help, assist or give support, so their children are reaping the fruit today. Will you repeat what your parents did to others or will you change your ways? Mephibosheth reaped where he didn't sow and he reaped David's kindness because of his father. What will you reap with your attitude? What will I reap with my behaviour? What will our children harvest when we are no more or when we are not with them? Kindness is a fruit harvested from past seed. What seeds are we sowing today?
God Bless you and Good Morning.
