TOPIC: APPRECIATION DAY: Still Be Joyful (2)

1 John 3: 11 - 25

MEMORY VERSE: 
Psalms 136:1-2.
"1. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. 2. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever."

BIBLE READING:
Habakkuk 3:17-18
"17. Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18. Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation"

Thinking Point:
Celebration is a choice, it shouldn't be attached to only what you see.

The Joy of the Lord shall not cease in our habitation in Jesus mighty name, amen.
When what we see determines how we live we deny ourselves the fullness of Joy. When we resist being happy because of one circumstance around our lives, we make God feel as if He hasn't done a thing for us. That God has answered your prayers doesn't mean He never answered any prayers of yours, beloved, be joyful. What isn't available shouldn't deny you the joy of what's available. Have you ever wondered what sustains you are things you never ask God for? The breath you breathe, a functioning sight, a hearing ear and a functioning mind to do what is right, when was the last time you were joyful for all these?

Prophet Habakkuk made his intention known to the Lord which is a big lesson to all of us. He said,

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18. Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation"

He was saying, even if all his efforts yielded no result, when there's nothing to show for his labour during the seed time, yet he will rejoice in the Lord, he will be joyful - full of joy - in God his salvation, that should be our case, our result shouldn't determine our Joy, we should be able to let the joy of the Lord subdue ever occurrence around us. Yes, the devil will always bring it to mind but we have the spirit of God to resist it and let the devil know that God knows what He's doing with our lives. Let us be joyful in the Lord so as not to cut off the joy He has in stock for us. This is December, remember, not everyone who came into this year with us is with now, Be joyful in God your Salvation. Celebrate God's goodness not what doesn't work out.
