TOPIC: THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD: Crying For Strength (5)

One Year Bible Reading:
Micah 1 - 3
Revelation 10

MEMORY VERSE:
Isaiah 41:10.
"10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

BIBLE READING:
Isaiah 40:30.
"30. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

Thinking Point:
Crying to God for strength should be our daily cry, for by self strength shall no man prevail.

Beloved, the strength of God that redeems from faintness and weariness will rest upon our lives in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Fainting and weariness is not peculiar to age or gender, it's what can happen to anyone in the race of life. We have seen causes of weariness and fainting in the life of a believer. When we become over dependent on ourselves, live without prayers, without seeking God's face in all we do, falling is inevitable. Prophet Isaiah said, even the youth, in their youthful age, will faint and be weary, young men will fall, why? Because we depend on personal strength, we trust in ourselves to run the race without Christ. Those who believe they are standing like Samson and Elijah who were mighty for God but lose focus on God for a moment will find themselves rolling on the floor.

Over confidence and over familiarity is the reason for fainting and weariness. Apostle Paul said, in 1 Corinthians 10:12,
"12. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."
This is a warning to all believers, He who thinks he is standing should be careful otherwise he will fall. We shouldn't be over confident but beware that what happened to other believers can also happen to us if care is not taken. Temptations are flying everywhere and everyday, opposition and enmity is increasing day by day, reasons to deny God appear more real than ever before, but being careful and depending on the strength of God is the only way out of it. It is not wrong to cry daily to God as believers, asking for God to increase our strength or rather ask for the renewer of strength at whatever level we are. Remember the word of Hannah which says,
"8. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. - 1 Samuel 2:9.
It is only when we cry for His strength that He keeps our feet from falling because by strength shall none of us prevail in the race of life. We need to keep checking ourselves if we are still standing, if our strength is not being drained daily. I encourage everyone reading this devotion this morning to cry to God for strength regardless of how strong you are or feel you are because by strength shall no man prevail. Father, increase my strength again, in Jesus Mighty name I pray, Amen.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
