Oluboye Emmanuel Ministry Mobile Daily Devotional Week 5, Day 6, Friday, 30th January, 2026 TOPIC: JONAH'S STORY; Season Of Separation (6)

TOPIC: JONAH'S STORY; Season Of Separation (6)

One Year Bible Reading:
Exodus 18 - 19
Matthew 21: 1 - 32

MEMORY VERSE:
1 Samuel 15:22
"22. And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."

BIBLE READING:
Jonah 1:17.
"17. Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights."

Thinking Point:
The separation season is a season of reconnecting with God.

Today, God shall reward all our efforts for the month of January with bountiful blessings in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.

Separation time is a season of change in everyone's life. It is that season when God gets our attention without any form of distraction. He brings a situation that bows our head to listen to His bidding by all means. Moses experienced his separation season with the burning bush without any distraction, Exodus 3. God uses any means to draw our attention to Himself in a way that we can't ignore. Separation season is that season when you surrender to God's will willingly without an alternative. Apostle Paul separation time came when he was on his way to Damascus going after the people of the way, Acts 9. He was arrested without an escape route from God. We all need to experience that season in our lives when our will will be laid down to pick up God's will. When our desires will need to go for God's purpose for our lives, I pray for everyone reading
this message today, that season shall come in our lives in Jesus' mighty name, Amen. When it was Abraham's season of separation, God called Him out of his father's house, out of his native land and sent him to the land of Canaan, Genesis 12. Until that season comes in our life we will never live a meaningful life.

Jonah was a prophet of God but was still arrogant and stubborn. God needed to separate him for a while in order to get His full attention. Many of us are working for God partially, doing God's work the way we want, sooner or later, God will cause that separation season to come when we will yield totally to His will. Do you know what it means to be in the belly of a fish for three days? No water, no food, no sunlight nor space to walk around in the whale? When that season comes, it will not be our desire anymore but to say, "Father, I am ready to go, send me". The prodigal son experienced his separation season when God let him squander all his father's wealth, Luke 15:12 - 32. You may be that person today who is enjoying resources and you are not attentive to God's assignment over your life, except that separation season when you will be forced to surrender to His will. Jonah had no strength in him again than to pray for God's mercy and promise to remain obedient to God's leading.

Are you still denying God your attention? Expect that season of separation from God. Are you turning away from God's leading and directive for his kingdom? That season is very close and you will have no other choice than to give Him your all. For any man/woman to be fruitful on earth we need to give God our self for His bidding. Separation season is a time to rededicate ourselves to God's will totally.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
