TOPIC: HANDLING DOUBT: Sarah (1)

One Year Bible Reading:
Joshua 3 - 4
Luke 8 : 1 - 21

MEMORY VERSE:
Jeremiah 32:27
"27. Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?"

BIBLE READING:
Genesis 18:9 - 10-12 - 15
"9. And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.
10. And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
12. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
13. And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
14. Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
15. Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh."

Thinking Point:
Your doubt may affect God's promises being revealed to others.

Happy New week to everyone. We will be victorious in all seen and unseen battles of lives this week in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

This week the topic before us is how we HANDLE DOUBT - God's declaration to us; our response and attitude to doubt. We shall be studying from the light of God's word those who doubted and the result of doubting God's word.

Our focus today is Sarah Tarah. Let me make this clear, every word of God always seems impossible because His promises and declaration always come at a time when all hope is lost, but nevertheless, what He says is what He will do.
God visited Abraham on this faithful day and He was sensitive to receiving Him. He came in the form of three men, stood very close to Abraham's house and was invited in by Abraham. After Abraham welcomed Him, a promise of a child was made to Abraham and Sarah. Here, Sarah was not the determinant but Abraham. God spoke to Abraham as the head of the family and a friend of God. Sarah laughed within herself if she can still experience the privilege of bearing a child and God who knew all things felt and saw her doubt but Sarah denied. But Abraham, who has walked with God for 24 years never altered a negative word because He knew it was God speaking and He will do what He says He will do.

Sarah would have remained childless if the promise was made to her directly. She doubted and even denied it. Many of us doubted God's promises within us and denied it which is one of the reasons many promises are still hanging. Let me make it clear, if Sarah had not had intercourse with Abraham in her doubt Isaac wouldn't have been born. No matter your doubt, act in accordance with what God says. Not that Abraham never had reasons to doubt, No, he had reasons, at 99 years of age and his wife was 89 years, there were reasons for him to doubt but he had faith that Sarah lacked. What if Sarah's Faith was the determinant for God's promises to stand? What if your faith is what will activate those promises? What if your doubt Is the reason why doors are still shut? God can't be a liar, He will surely bring to past what He says even when we doubt it except we refuse to act. Which promises do you need to act on? Start acting and stop doubting.

God Bless and Good Morning.
