Thinking Point:
How we address God determine how He respond to our request.
In all we do today, the name Jesus will respond to us, the name above other names will perform wonders in our lives in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
The lesson we are learning from The Blind Bartimaeus today is the way He called Jesus's attention, He called Jesus by His full name, have you noticed that? Most times Jesus was addressed as the Son of God, son of Mary, Jesus Christ, but Blind Bartimaeus called Jesus differently, meaning he had a pre-knowledge of His background. That is simply saying, regardless of his predicament he follows the scripture, He knew the lineage of Jesus, he cried out saying, "Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me". A detailed knowledge of who Jesus is and the lineage where He came from. Our depth of knowledge of whom we speak to determine His response to our request. When you call people a name they couldn't resist, it brings the question of, "How did he know my name?" "This person must have known me too well to call me that name”. There are names people call you that will bring a flash back of how old that name is and the only set of persons that could call you that name, that was what the blind Bartimaeus did. He called Jesus a name that was very deep, "Jesus, Thou Son Of David, have mercy on me. When you call Jesus according to who He has proven Himself to be you will always get His attention. When you call God in respect of what you want Him to do, he will never disappoint you. Abraham said, "The Lord will provide" and He did provide a lamb for sacrifice, Genesis 22:8 & 14. The name you called God determines how He responds to your request and how fast He responds.
I call Him, "The Greatest Rewarder whose reward never depends on location". You service Him anywhere and He rewards you somewhere else. You service Him with what you have and He rewards you with what you lack. In all, He is not a debtor, He pays when due. What do you call God? What do you call Jesus?
The blind Bartimaeus called Him the name God gave Him, Jesus, coupled with His genealogy name, "Son Of David" and Jesus couldn't hold back than to respond to him. Calling Jesus differently is a way to enhance response to our prayers. What you call God determines how speedy His response to your request is.
When you pray, what do you call Him? What knowledge of God do you apply when relating with Him? That's the need of praising God when we pray, to call Him by His name for Him to listen to our request faster. Relate with Him more than just a God but as Father, Source, Dependant, Saviour, not according to what others say but your experience of Him and what you want Him to do. Blind Bartimaeus attracted the attention of Jesus through the knowledge of Jesus' name.
