TOPIC: WHAT BELONGS TO GOD? Thanksgiving (4)

One Year Bible Reading:
2nd Samuel 18 -19
John 1:19 - 51.

MEMORY VERSE:
Luke 20:25.
"25. And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's."

BIBLE READING:
John 11:41-42.
"41. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me."

Thinking Point:
All thanks belongs to God, the arranger of all testimony experienced.

This week is blessed, a graceful week, positive report, perfection of all projects and joyful testimony in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Ingratitude, we all know, is the biggest hindrance to being blessed. When it's lacking, help becomes a mirage. When you receive and see nothing special about it, you tend to receive the last portion of what belongs to you from men and God. Let this be clear: no one receives anything except it's released from above (John 3:27). Whatever we receive from men is what God has ordained to be released to us. It's not by experience, exposure, energy, or resources that got us what we have, but the life of God in us. The life of God in you, the agility you enjoy daily, this is the main reason why all thanks should be given to God. Thanksgiving belongs to God, who made us recipients of all blessings we've received, John 1:16. Whatever we're enjoying is of His fullness, not of the fullness of the channel who releases it.

You find a grateful heart with responses like, "God bless you, sir/ma," after receiving help. It shows that God is the giver of what they receive, and He'll replenish the giver for given. Beloved, not showing gratitude to God is shutting a door against another inflow of God's blessing. Thanksgiving is a sign that you've received and you're grateful for it. Yes, you can thank men for the help received, but God should be the focus, not the men.

When you return to God with thanksgiving, you tend to go back with a special blessing. Jesus thanked God before calling forth Lazarus from the grave. Every thanks giver is a candidate for the inflow of God's blessings.

Lastly, thanking God isn't only for good and fine situations. It shouldn't be when all things are sweet or in abundance. According to 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which says,

"In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

"Everything" here means in all situations—see reasons to give thanks to God, not because of the situation you're in, but because it's God's will for us to thank Him. Show gratitude, show appreciation, because in all situations, there's what God is trying to bring out of it.

Can I hear you say, "Thank You, Jesus" "Thank you, Father, because I know you know what you're doing in this situation." "Thank you for taking the glory; I give you all my praise." Our thanks belong to God, come what may. Show appreciation to those whom God uses for your lifting, but remember God sent them, so give Him the best thanks you can ever give.

God Bless you and Good Morning.
