TOPIC: WHAT BELONGS TO GOD? Love The Lord (3)

"25. And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's."
BIBLE READING:
Deuteronomy 6:4-5.
"4. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5. And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might."
Thinking Point:
To Love the Lord our God first and above all is what belongs to Him.
Welcome to a new week endowed with Grace to race through life. This week we will get it right, hit our targets and achieve our aims with the love of God, in Jesus name, Amen.
What belongs to God has been our focus and today, we are looking at the Love of God. No matter our gift to God, without genuine love it can't be acceptable. Loving God above all else is more important to God than all our sacrifices. Our love for God should propels our sacrifice to Him not the other way round. Loving God means doing His will intentionally, putting Him first without hurting others. Sometimes, Loving God means making sacrifices for others, showing others love regardless of their attitude and behaviors. To Love God is to express our kind-heartedness to those who don't deserve it. Jesus said, if you love me you will obey my commandments, John 14:15. Again, He said in John 15:10
"10. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."
To love God is to obey His commandments when convenient and not convenient. Jesus said, He kept His father's commandments and abided in His love, likewise, obedience to God's commandments is what proves our love for God. In all we do, we have to put the Love of God first, in our marriages, businesses, services and lifestyle. The love of God should determine our way of life in our environment. Just imagine how far we go to prove our love for our spouse, some will say “Love is blind”, so, our Love for God should be above that measure, above the Love of man because Love belongs to God. A God who loves us before we were formed in our mothers womb, who sent His son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from generation sin, He loved us first so we are to replicate this love by doing as He commanded. Money, currency, wealth can be given to God but loving Him genuinely is what determines the acceptability of our sacrifice to Him. 1 Kings 3, has this to said about Solomon,
"3. AND SOLOMON LOVED THE LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places."
Solomon's love for God in his early life was not measurable to the extent that He sacrifices thousands of burnt offerings to God. What you give to God determines the level of your love for Him. Without loving God first every other thing we give makes no sense to Him. Our Love belongs to God, how far can we go to prove our love for God?
