TOPIC: MONTH OF TRANSFORMATION: Remain Focus (5)
One Year Bible Reading:
Numbers 16 - 17
Mark 11:1 - 26
MEMORY VERSE:
Haggai 2:9.
"9. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts."
BIBLE READING:
Philippians 3:13
"13. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."
Thinking Point:
Dwelling on the past is sacrificing the future.
The hand of the Lord which is strong and mighty shall deliver us from every opposition today, where there seems to be no way God is coming through for us in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
Transformation entails determination, courage and consistency. Everything within you will fight against transformation including those around you until you set your mind to be transformed. Everything remains at the point of rest until a force is applied, everything wants conveniences but you need to apply that force to create the change you need. You've made the decision, you have taken the action then you need to be focused regardless of the outcome of your action at the moment until you see the result you crave for. Until you see the changes you desire you don't have to back out. Your determination to keep moving even when the result doesn't show what you desire is the fuel to activate the transformation you need.
The apostle Paul said, forget those things which are behind; the comfort zones, the pleasure hindering your progress, those relationships that drain you without a positive impact in your life, forget them and remain focused. The inability for the children of Israel to forget the past in Egypt made thousands of them die in the wilderness, they kept recalling their past days in slavery and decided to choose some leader to lead them back. Don't back out, be focused on the changes you desire. Hannah never looked back again since the day she prayed, the scripture said,
"18. .... So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.1 Samuel 1:18.
Despite no instant result she stops looking sad but focuses on the next steps to transform. She wasn't saying she had prayed to God and neglected the needful steps to be taken. She went in with her husband to follow the process of having a child. The more you think of your past the more you lose focus of the future you are after. The more you focus on your past the more you lose the joy of your new path. When you remain focused on a transformed life you keep seeing the next steps to take but when you keep remembering the enjoyment in your comfort zone, the more the temptation to abandon your journey and turn back to where slavery looks like home. Be determined to let go of the past and focus on the transformation process, it may look like nothing is happening just keep moving because every transformation takes the process downward before upward. Keep moving, keep pursuing till the way becomes more clearer. Transformation is all about putting the past behind you and reaching for what is ahead of you.
