Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 33, Day 6 Friday, 16th August 2024. TOPIC: UNREQUESTED FAVOUR: By Showing Hospitality (6)

TOPIC: UNREQUESTED FAVOUR: By Showing Hospitality (6)

MEMORY VERSE:
Jeremiah 29:11.
"11. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 4:13-17.
"13. And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people."
"14. And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old."
"15. And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door."
"16. And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid."
"17. And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life."

Thinking Point:
Yes, the world we are in, is dangerous, but it will be unwise of us, as Christians, to withdraw hospitality to men.

The Lord shall crown all our efforts as the week runs to an end today, you will come home smiling with better testimonies in Jesus name, Amen.

As we move towards rounding up our topic for the week, Unrequested Favour, let me remind us that Christianity can't be separated from Hospitality. Showing hospitality is another easy way to activate unrequested favour from God and men. Our Father Abraham, in Genesis 18 welcome the angels and the promised child was released to him without placing the request. Helping people may be risky but that shouldn't be the excuse for we believers.

The shunamite woman in our study today never asked nor discussed her issues with Prophet Elijah despite accommodating him and his servant. She kept showing hospitality to a man she perceived might be a man of God but the day came when he attitude activated the Unrequested favour, although she denied having a request but still her issue of barrenness was settled finally without placing the request. Beloved, showing hospitality opens us up to what God has for us. It releases to us beyond what we desire or our unrevealed request to God. Let not the world control how we behave or see things. We need to let God rule through us and affect lives positively. Be hospitable to others, it will trigger God to release all your unknown and known belongings
in a mysterious way. Keep reaching out to souls.

Good Day and God Bless you.
