TOPIC: WHAT DISCIPLINE DOES; Conquers Laziness (1)
MEMORY VERSE:
Hebrews 12:11.
"11. Now no chastening (Discipline) for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
BIBLE READING:
Proverbs 24:33-34.
"33. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:"
"34. So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man."
Thinking Point:
Being laziness is different from being jobless. Laziness is as a result of lack of Discipline why joblessness may be a time of seeking for opportunity.
This new week shall answer to us, we shall not lack His help, grace and mercy in Jesus name, Amen.
Our focus this week is what I call, the effect of indiscipline. What happens when we are not disciplined; What's the product of indiscipline? I pray as God will be speaking to us, we shall see where we are lagging behind and be able to make amendment in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. What is discipline?
I define it as "The ability to do what is right, timely, obediently, conveniently or inconveniently, under painful/longsuffering in order to achieve a progressive purpose in life. Discipline is not always easy, comfortable and without pain, it's the path that leads to the top in all facet of life. Any successful man and woman are people who went through discipline on a daily bases. Without discipline no great man or woman can be made.
The first point I will be discussing today is that Discipline conquers Laziness. The first enemy of a progressive person is laziness. The most easiest way to become a nonentity in life is by being lazy. A lazy person have reasons to remain idle, sleepy, jobless and best complainer. A lazy person plays when they ought to work and play when they ought to play, meaning no time for work. Sometimes they even prefer to do the hardest work in life but at the wrong time, when it's too late. The easiest way to conquer laziness is by being disciplined, being up and doing. Getting ones hand dirty early in life. Fight against over sleeping, always find reason to be away from bed. The causes of poverty is traced to laziness, "he who does not work does not deserve to eat" and when they are not working they depend on stealing and on what others gets.
King Solomon said,
"33. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:"
To overcome laziness stop the folding of hands. Let that hand be disciplined to do something before taking something to the mouth. When you make money, spending it still involves discipline. May I ask you this morning, how disciplined are you? Are we not lazy because we are not discipline?
Good Day and God Bless you.
