TOPIC: WHAT DISCIPLINE DOES; It Conquers Carnality (7) 

MEMORY VERSE: 
Hebrews 12:11.
"11. Now no chastening (Discipline) for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

BIBLE READING: 
Hebrews 3:15-16.
"15. While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation."
"16. For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses."

Thinking Point:
Without Discipline carnality can't be subdued. The Holy Spirit doesn't do all things on our behalf, Discipline has it role to play.

Walking and working with God is all about discipline. We can't see nor touch God. We only feel his presences and see His acts. Mind you, all He wanted from us is to deny ourselves of some pleasure and make Him the focus. He is a loving God who is ready to guide us in all we do. He cares for us and He's willing to help us as long as we yield to him. The only issue we have is the ability to hear and harken to Him which can only be done by discipline. I will always use this scenario as an example, "What spirit tells you to pray? Is it the devil or the Spirit of God, your guess is as mine, the Holy Spirit . Which spirit cautioned us not to do evil? That's is voice of God but our level of discipline is what determines our yielding to this voice. To walk in the spirit entails discipline. To hear God's voice and do accordingly is a product of discipline. 

David speaking, "Do not harden your heart if you hear His voice, simply saying, be disciplined to do according to His instructions when you hear His word. When God's instructions come how do we handle it? Do we see the man giving it or God? When you read God's word, how do you respond to the instructions? Discipline in yielding to God's guidance which leads to fruitful life. Discipline to Prayers, studying of God's word, and living a Holy Life is God's demand from us.
