TOPIC: SERVICE; A DUTY: It's Personal (1)

MEMORY VERSE: 
Exodus 23:25.
"25. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."

BIBLE READING: 
Exodus 33:11.
"11. ..., but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle."

Thinking Point:
Service is not meant to be man's focus but Focusing on God who endowed us with specialities for His Glory.

Happy New week to you beloved of Christ. This week shall gather to us the remaining portion of our blessings for the month in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

I welcome you to the last Sunday of the month of August. God has been faithful to us all. This week, we shall focus on the topic, "Service: A Duty." Service is a calling upon us all as believer and followers of Christ. My focus today says, "Service is Personal", service is not jointly, it's an individual race. Being in an office, department, group or church with other doesn't mean everybody is serving, no, you can only determine if you are serving or not. Service is not what others compel you to do, it's what you decide to do. Service isn't forceful but willful. Self isn't men focus but God focus.

Our Bible reading talked about Joshua, the servant of Moses, the scripture says, after Moses left the Tabernacle, Joshua stays behind to serve his God, not an instruction or declaration from Moses, but an individual decision. When others rushed to close at 4:30pm, 5:00pm on the dot in their place of work, some still stayed back for some moment In case the boss might need a little help, that is service. Rushing out of a place you claim to be your servicing point isn't a prove of your service. That others left isn't a reason for you to leave. Others shouldn't be a yard stick to measure service but encourage us to do more. We should rather be the yards stick to understand what service is. Are you serving? Service is everywhere, your church, work place, family, groups of friends and ministry. Are you serving or imitating others? Is your service determined by what others do? Service Is Personal not collective. Serve in your position as serving God not man.
