TOPIC: SERVICE; A DUTY: Serve Diligently (4)

MEMORY VERSE: 
Exodus 23:25.
"25. And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."

BIBLE READING: 
Colossians 3:23-24.
"23. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
"24. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."

Thinking Point:
What is what doing, is what doing well. Serve with the whole of your heart making God the the focus.

Ever hindrances to your service is dismantled, No fruitless service in your life anymore, In Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

When God assigns you to render a service, He wants your best with focus on Him. One good thing to do about rendering service is to look beyond the end receiver and focus on God. Every service is targeted at someone but focuses on God. When you miss the focus, you miss the reward of the service. Service is a duty to be rendered to men with the mentality of God being the receiver. So, if you will render a service, do it with the whole of your heart. People may not appreciate it, they may criticize it, but as long as God is sending you, keep doing it.

Apostle Paul speaking to the Colossians, said, 
"23. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
"24. Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."

We miss it when we expect people to reward us for our services, that's not what the Lord says. Men may show appreciation but God is the rewarder. Men may praise you before others just know that God is only one who can give you a befitting reward for your services. Service is obedience to God's leading without a rethink. Service requires wholeheartedness and focus on God for reward. He said, "Serve me and I will bless your bread, ...", When men become the focus, reward from God is truncated. Be service oriented not reward oriented. God isn't a debtor, He will surely visit your sacrifice.
