TOPIC: NO EXCUSES TO GIVE UP: When We Fail God (4)
MEMORY VERSE:
Judges 6:14
14 Then the lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”
BIBLE READING:
Genesis 16:2-4.
"2. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai."
"3. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife."
"3. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes."
Thinking Point:
Failing God isn't enough excuse to give up on His promises concerning one's life. Returning to Him is the only option.
No matter the excuse the devil is using against our lives, Heaven will deliver us from his deceits in Jesus Name, Amen.
God created humans. He knows our limits, our weaknesses and our make-up. He knows we are prone to sin/ disobedience. He had also made a way of escape for us when we stray away from Him. He has His plans and promises for all humans, regardless of our attitude towards Him. That is why, "He is slow to anger..." But these shouldn't be taken for granted because it can become too late if we refuse to yield to Him.
In Genesis 15:6, the scripture, said, "And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness." This is the same Abraham who turned against his belief and faith in God, by agreeing to his wife's idea of Hagar without consulting God. Many times we failed by deviating from His promises, lost our stand of Faith in His word, still that isn't a reason to give up on God. He forgives easily but because we have lost the courage to find our way back to Him we are downcasted. We may disappoint Him, go against His ways but His mercy is much more available for us. All we need is to go back to Him regardless of what the world is saying about our attitude. God is not a man who keeps grudges. The death of His son has paid up for our sins, we only need to acknowledge our shortcomings, repent of it, then we are good again. No matter that sin of yours, no matter that attitude and behaviour, God is not that wicked to cancel His plans and promises for your life. Stop the excuse of "I've sinned against God", go to Him for reconciliation and you will find yourself back into His plans. Abraham still remains our Father till date despite what he did. God still rekconed with himself as Abraham's God, how much more in the dispensation of Grace and mercy. Stop running from God because of your past sins, go back to Him he's been waiting for you.
