TOPIC: NO EXCUSES TO GIVE UP: Being A Captive (6)

MEMORY VERSE: 
Judges 6:14
14 Then the lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”

BIBLE READING: 
Isaiah 49:24-25.
"24. Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?"
"25. But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children."

Thinking Point:
Lawfully and unlawfully captives can be freed as long as we stay put with God. No strongman is greater than than God.

Wherever we've been a captive, in any form, God will deliver us with His Mighty hands in Jesus Name, Amen.

When Isaiah was declaring God's prophecy concerning the children of Israel scattered in all nation, He talked about two different captivities which are, The Lawfully captive and the unlawfully captive. What does it mean to be lawfully captive? it implies some are captive because of their sins; disobedience to God and serving other God aside the Only God. They've turned a deaf ear to God's instructions, so God ordained their captivity. To be unlawfully captive can be seen in First Samuel 30, when David's family was captured in Ziklag by the Amalekites. Not because of their sins, but they became a prey of the enemies. Like Joseph who was locked in prison for a sin he never committed, these are unlawful captives. But the Lord said, through Isaiah, no matter the categories of captivities we may fail into, He will Deliver the captives of the mighty, we will be delivered in Jesus name. So therefore, being captive isn't a reason to quit service and seeking God. Either you are suffering for your sins or not, God said He will deliver you. 

Many times, the Israelites were lawfull captives but God in his Mighty power saved them. Joseph was saved as an unlawful captive and ended up elevated to Prime Minister in Egypt, God is ready to save us from that captivity we may be. How I wish I could have access to R&B legendary, R. Kelly, to let him know, He might be lawfully captive but still God can save him. All he need to do is to seek for God's forgiveness and repent of his ways, and use the prison as a platform to evangelize Christ with his outstanding composition. Joseph kept using his talent till someone told the king about him. God said, I will contend with those who contented with you and save your children. Don't quit believing in God, you will be set free from every captivity in Jesus name, Amen. Don't give up
