TOPIC: WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST: Casting Out Demons (6) 

MEMORY VERSE: 
John 14:12.
"12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

BIBLE READING: 
Mark 5:6-9.
"6. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
"7. And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
"8. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit."
"9. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many."

Thinking Point:
We are called to Cast out every spirit that works contrary to God's spirit in the lives of men not to be afraid of them.

This day, in the name of Jesus, I cast out any tormenting spirit in your life in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.

When Jesus was on earth, one of the areas He also specialized was casting out demons, unclean spirits from people. Every sickness has a spirit behind it and Jesus always goes far to the source of the sickness which is the demonic spirit in operation. He rebuked evil spirits working in the body and cast them out in one word. If we are for Jesus, His ambassadors on earth, this should be our assignment also, casting out demons around us and everyone around us. Our Bible reading today shows us how demons recognise Jesus even when He's yet to speak to him and Jesus cast the legions out of him immediately. 

According to the book of Mark 16:17, which says,
"17. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My Name Shall They Cast Out Devils;..."

In the name of Jesus, our source of strength, power, saviour, we have been empowered to cast out every unclean spirit in the life of men. May I say this, if we cast out demonic spirits from men, little did we need to preach for others to be saved. Yes, many fake it, arrange it but that doesn't negate the fact that the power to make it happen through Christ Jesus is not in existence. We have it, we have been endowed to do it just that we nurse the fear of doing it. When Peter and John were going into the temple at the beautiful gate, that was what they did, casting out the spirit in charge of the man's feet. We can do it, we've been endowed to do it, I pray this morning, the courage to do as Christ has endowed us, will rest on us this day in Jesus mighty name, Amen. We are called to cast out demons in us and other's lives.
