TOPIC: WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST: Home Coming (7) 

MEMORY VERSE: 
John 14:12.
"12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

BIBLE READING: 
John 14:1-4.
"1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."
"2. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
"3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
"4. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know."

Thinking Point:
We are on a journey and we must return Home some day. We need to let others know about our Home.

Father, at the end of our pilgrimage here on earth, may we end up with you in the mansion prepared for us in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, while rounding up His mission on earth, brought to our remembrance that, we are on a pilgrimage here on earth and He is going to prepare a place for us so we can remain with Him forever. He spoke about His second coming which is to harvest the saint back home. May I ask us this morning if this rings a bell in our heart? Do we still remember this part of God's teachings? Are we still conscious of going back home someday? Yes, it's real and true that Jesus Christ will be back someday on a day unknown to you and i. May I put it to us this way, Jesus is coming but our meeting with Him differs. We may not meet Him the same time or the same day but someday one way, we will end our pilgrimage here on earth and the question is, are we going to be on the Lord's side after this pilgrimage on earth?

As we are conscious of this fact, we need to let others know that, there is an end to everything on earth, even to our lives and where we are returning to should be paramount to us. We need to let others know that Christ is waiting to meet them too, not just us alone. His preparation isn't for some sets of people but for all who cares to follow and listen to Him. It's our duty to keep reminding people of His second coming which won't be like the first. Jesus is coming back again, sooner or later but our time might differ, when and where is not as important as how prepared we are for the day. What determines where we belong when He comes is our way of life, how we treat and live with others is what will be used as a yield stick to lead us to where we belong. How ready are you brethren? How often do we make this known to others? It's our duty and calling. Let's keep at it.
