Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 38, Day 4 Wednesday, 18th September 2024 TOPIC: GET UP AND MOVE ON: Bear The Consequence And Move On (4)

TOPIC: GET UP AND MOVE ON: Bear The Consequence And Move On (4)

MEMORY VERSE:
Micah 7:8
"8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."

BIBLE READING:
2 Samuel 12:15-20.
"15 Then Nathan departed to his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became ill.
16 David therefore pleaded with God for the child, and David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground.
17 So the elders of his house arose and went to him, to raise him up from the ground. But he would not, nor did he eat food with them.
18 Then on the seventh day it came to pass that the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead. For they said, “Indeed, while the child was alive, we spoke to him, and he would not heed our voice. How can we tell him that the child is dead? He may do some harm!”
19 When David saw that his servants were whispering, David perceived that the child was dead. Therefore David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” And they said, “He is dead.”
20 So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.

Thinking Point:
For every action, positive or negative, there is a consequence. We have to face it and move on. Just keep moving no matter what.

Mercy will speak, grace will stand in and we will recover in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

For every act there is a reaction. For every seed there is a harvest. Every mistake has its consequences. God can be likened to a businessman who makes sure He pays every one his/her due.

Galatia 6:7,
"7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

God is merciful and He is also an account keeper. If anyone falls, either staying on the ground or standing up to our feet, God still pays back our dues. He is a forgiving God but every sin has its punishment. When you repent of your sins and go back to Him, He delivers you from the judgment but there is a punishment in awaiting.

David thought that God's mercy on him can stop God from punishing him, no, that wasn't included in God's mercy and forgiveness. For every act against God, no matter who we are, there is punishment. Moses lost the promised land because of anger and disobedience to God's instructions, but His body was still carried by the angel, Jude 1:9. Samson walked into sin and lost his eye as the punishment, but God still listened to his voice and used him to defeat the Philistines, Judges 16:28-30.

God might forgive you for falling but there is punishment waiting. Be prepared for it and don't run from it. It might come as reproach, mockery, loss of something or someone special to you, but listen, if He forgives you, you will rise again and still be a vessel in His hand. Never think He hasn't forgiven you, He has, but there is a cane for every mistake in our Christian race.

I pray for everyone, myself inclusive, we will not fall in Jesus Mighty name. If anyone is down at this moment, as a fall in the race, God's mercy will speak for you in Jesus Mighty name, Amen. The Grace to stand on your feet and continue the race rests upon you today, Amen. The Grace to handle the next stage, rest on you, so shall it be in Jesus Precious name, Amen.

Good day and God Bless you.
