TOPIC: LORD, HELP MY HELPERS: Let Them Act Rightly. (2)
MEMORY VERSE:
Ps. 60:11
"Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man."
BIBLE READING:
Exo. 2:11-16
"11 Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren."
"12. So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand."
"13. And when he went out the second day, behold, two Hebrew men were fighting, and he said to the one who did the wrong, “Why are you striking your companion?”
14 Then he said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” So Moses feared and said, “Surely this thing is known!”
15 When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.
Thinking Point:
Without the Help of God, one's helper can act wrongly thinking they are really helping but they are causing damage.
This week, our helpers will act rightly, they will not miss act while trying to help us, in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
When Moses was forty years of age, he decided to check on his people, Acts 7:23-29. Moses had the urge that He would save his people but he was clueless of how it would be achieved. He ended up becoming a fugitive in the land of the Midian after acting before his time.
Forty years later, the Lord called him from the burning bush, Acts 7:30-34. Now, Moses was Eighty years of age. He did as the Lord instructed him and he led the Israelite out of Egypt after Four Hundred and Thirty Years of slavery.
In the book of Genesis 15:7-14, the Lord promised Abraham that His descendant will be in slavery for Four Hundred years, but why was it delayed? Why the extra thirty years of slavery? This is because the helper of Israel missed the appointed time. How? When Israelite was three hundred and ninety years in slavery, that was when Moses was forty years. He came out to see his brethren and ended up killing an Egyptian. In the plan of God, it shouldn't have taken more than ten years more for their freedom but Moses missed the timing and was about to start the mission without God. This made him run away for another forty years till he was prepared to carry out the assignment. So, Moses's lack of patience for God's timing added the extra years for the children of Israel. He thought it was by anger, aggressiveness or by fighting, until God took him on a journey of forty good years and he learnt how to be humble, that was when he was sent to free the Israelite at exactly Four Hundred and Thirty years for the Israelite.
I would like us to pray to God to help our helpers understand the timing of their help. That they will not act before or after their timing. Moses acted before his timing and that extended the slavery of Israelite, your Helpers will not extend your days of deliverance in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen. Lord Jesus, help my helpers to help me at the right time and in the right way in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
Good day and God Bless you.
