Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 39, Day 5 Thursday, 26th September 2024 TOPIC: LORD, HELP MY HELPERS: Connect Me To My Helper. (5)

TOPIC: LORD, HELP MY HELPERS: Connect Me To My Helper. (5)

MEMORY VERSE:
Ps. 60:11
"Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man."

BIBLE READING:
1 Sam. 30:11-15
"15. Then they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water.
12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights.
13 Then David said to him, “To whom do you belong, and where are you from?” And he said, “I am a young man from Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me behind, because three days ago I fell sick.
14 We made an invasion of the southern area of the Cherethites, in the territory which belongs to Judah, and of the southern area of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.”
15 And David said to him, “Can you take me down to this troop?” So he said, “Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this troop."

Thinking Point:
The helper and the helped needs a connection, a link to identify one another is the most breakthrough point for both.

One important area about being helped is coming in contact with our helpers. This can only be done by God. God is the arranger of such a union. The location and recognition of our helper is only known by God and He alone can connect us together. I pray this morning, the Lord will connect us to our helpers wherever they may be in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

David needed a helper to lead him to the troops who invaded his land. God gave him the go ahead to pursue after the invaders so he needed a helper to give him direction. David's men saw an Egyptian who had not eaten for three days and three nights. They fed him and at the end of the day, he led them to the troops who had their families captured. God made the arrangement three days before David found him. He made his master leave him behind so he could help David locate their camp. Another thing to note in this story is, your helper might still be your enemy. He/she might have worked against you, but that doesn't stop God from using them for you.

We have to be sensitive in order to locate our helper, we also need the help of God for them to locate and recognise us when we come in contact with them.

Father, we need your help to locate and recognise our helpers when we come in contact with them. Help us not to be distracted or be insensitive when we meet them, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Good day and God Bless you.
