TOPIC: LORD, HELP MY HELPERS: Your Helper May Need Your Help (6)
MEMORY VERSE:
Ps. 60:11
"Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man."
BIBLE READING:
1 Sam. 30:9-15
14 We made an invasion of the southern area of the Cherethites, in the territory which belongs to Judah, and of the southern area of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.”
15 And David said to him, “Can you take me down to this troop?” So he said, “Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will take you down to this troop."
Thinking Point:
Your helping others may be the reason for you to be Helped also. When you have nothing to offer, you might not be helped. What can you offer?
Most times, we expect to harvest what we never sow. We believe in miracles which don't come like magic. We seek for what we don't give. We fast, cry and pray for what we don't deserve and God keeps looking at us as a slave demanding the right of a son. We always make requests of what is not ours under the disguise of Faith. Brethren, God's kingdom is governed by principles. Every door has a key, that God is good doesn't mean He will lavish His goods anyhow, No, He always knows what and How to do His things.
God rewards everything we do. I keep saying this, God doesn't just answer prayers any more, He checks our records before releasing any of His miracles. When you refuse to render help, when you choose to be mean to others and you are crying to the same God for Help, He will rather send you the harvest of your past seeds.
1 Samuel 20, talked about how Jonathan, the son of King Saul, rescued David from his father's evil plot. Jonathan sowed help to David and David sowed the help back to Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel 9. What you release is what you receive. David was able to recover all after the help of the Egyptian who gave him direction, 2 Samuel 30. Joseph did the same by rendering help to the butler while in the prison, Gen. 49:5-14, and that help came back to lift him out of the dungeon, Gen. 41. Luke 16:19-31 talking about The Rich man and Lazarus. The men refuse to allow His riches to get to Lazarus while on earth but in heaven he wanted to harvest from where he never sowed.
Can someone remember your seeds and respond to your cry of help? Can God find someone that can reward your past acts of help towards him/her? Can your children enjoy help after you have left this world? Hope you are not disturbing God for the harvest of someone else?
Gal. 6:7
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. If you desire to receive help, help people so as to have a record with God, the record keeper.
