Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 37, Day 2 Monday, 9th September 2024. TOPIC: WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST: He was Compassionate (2).

TOPIC: WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST: He was Compassionate (2).

MEMORY VERSE:
John 14:12.
"12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

BIBLE READING:
Matthew 9:36.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Thinking Point:
None is as compassionate as our Lord Jesus. He showed compassion throughout His earthly stay which made Him fulfil His mission till date.

As we start this fresh week, we will enjoy God's compassion and we will show compassion to others in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

The second act of Jesus while on earth was showing compassion to as many as crosses His path. What is compassion? it's sympathetic feelings and concerns for the sufferings and misfortune of others. It's being moved by others' burdens. Jesus' compassion is what led to many of His successes on earth. He is full of compassion to all, both the high and the low. Jesus preached compassion while on earth to the Pharisees and the public. No where was it recorded in the Bible that Jesus mocked someone with their situation but His compassion moved Him to put an end to the situation.

May I ask you this day, how compassionate are you? Are you compassionate at all, starting from your immediate family to everyone you have contact with in your daily activities? Do you show compassion or mock others with their situation? Do you claim to be a follower of Jesus only to receive from Him or to show compassion to people? Showing compassion is not limited to what you have, it propels you to reach out to those who can be of help, those who can't solve the situation at hand, not necessarily from you. Compassion leads you to intercede on someone's behalf. So, compassion is not limited by "I don't have or I can't handle your situation". Can Jesus refer to your compassion like that of the good Samaritan? If you are a follower of Jesus, one of the proofs is your compassion to others. It's time to be like Jesus.

Good day and God Bless you.
