Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 42, Day 7Saturday, 19th October 2024 TOPIC: LET US PRAY: Lord, Have Mercy On Me (7)
TOPIC: LET US PRAY: Lord, Have Mercy On Me (7)
MEMORY VERSE:
1 Thessalonians 5:17.
Pray without ceasing.
BIBLE READING:
Mark 10:46-47.
"46. And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging."
"47. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me."
Thinking Point:
God's mercy endures forever, it's not limited or insufficient. So, we should make it a duty to ask for Mercy every moment of our lives.
It's the last day of our prayer week, and I believe God has answered our prayers beyond our expectations these past days. The result will begin to show forth in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.
We round up today by asking for God's Mercy. God's Mercy is the door to accessing the Almightiness of God. Mercy is not our mean target, but it's what we need to access our desire so to say. When you need your car to take you to a place, you don't sit on the bonnet of the car, No, you use your key to unlock the car, get access into it and then drive to wherever you desire, that is mercy, key to access God, key to have opportunity to speak to God Himself.
This was the knowledge Blind Bartimaeus had. He knew he needed the attention of Jesus among the crowd. Many blind persons will be there, the crowd followed Jesus aimlessly but he needed to access Jesus directly, all he did was to ask for access to Jesus, so he shouted, "Jesus, thou son of David, have Mercy on me". Did it work? Yes, he got the access, he was called upon by Jesus, then his request was presented and released. Brethren, most times we need to seek God's attention by asking for Mercy. We need to cry to Him in and out of session for Mercy. Yes, Mercy brings forgiveness, shows us favour, it's also an avenue to access Jesus for all needs being met. I will leave you to yourselves to raise a voice of Mercy to God. If all you can say from today on is to keep asking for God's mercy, let it be.
Say, Father, have mercy on me. Show me your mercy in all situations. Your mercy is all that counts.
Good day and God Bless you.
