Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 44, Day 1, Sunday, 27th October 2024 TOPIC: Trusting God: No Complain But Commendation
TOPIC: Trusting God: No Complain But Commendation
MEMORY VERSE:
Proverbs 3:5-6.
"5. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
"6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
BIBLE READING:
Luke 1:6-7.
"6. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless."
"7. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years."
Thinking Point:
Trusting God for a miracle does not involve complaining and grumbling of your services to God.
Happy New week to you all. This week will glorify God in our lives in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
As many that have been trusting God for one response or the other, one attitude to run away from is complaining while waiting. Trusting God has never been easy, it takes time and a lot is involved. But one of the attitudes that should be avoided when trusting God is complaining. It is not easy to trust God, many reproaches, mockery and shame may be experienced during that season but complaining shouldn't take a better side of us. Complaining always proves to God that He is late and God can never be late. Complaining can also mean doubting the ability of God to do what we desire. What to do while trusting God is to commend what He has done around us despite expecting Him in a bigger way.
A good example can be seen in our case study today, Zacharias and Elisabeth, who had no child but still served the Lord in their old age. Zacharias never missed his duty in the temple despite the condition. Do you think he wasn't humiliated and reproached often? He was but he kept trusting God and never complained. And one day, the Lord remembered him and granted his long awaited request. Brethren, may I let you know, God knows about your trust in Him and will never disappoint you nor put you to shame. Do you mean God hasn't done it before by taking away some shame? He will do it again and again, keep trusting Him and try to eradicate complaints, it always turns Him away. Let your trust be total and complete in Him.
Good day and God Bless you.
