Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 44, Day 3, Tuesday, 29th October 2024 TOPIC: TRUSTING GOD: It Involves Patience (3)

TOPIC: TRUSTING GOD: It Involves Patience (3)

MEMORY VERSE:
Proverbs 3:5-6.
"5. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
"6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

BIBLE READING:
Psalms 40:1-3.
"1. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry."
"2. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings."
"3. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."

Thinking Point:
Trusting in God involves being patient till He deems fit to respond to our request.

Our trust in Him will be rewarded soon in Jesus' name, Amen.
Often, we claim to trust in God but we hasten Him to do what we are trusting Him for in our own way and time. We use the word, "I trust Him" but we seem to be teaching Him how to do things. Lack of patience while waiting for God is the reason for many mistakes that troubles the world today. Abraham trusted God but he couldn't trust Him patiently so he welcomed the idea of his wife, Sarah to take Hagar as a wife, Gen. 16. Impatient of King Saul led him to make a sacrifice meant to be carried out by Prophet Samuel while still proving he trusted God.

King David said in this verse, I waited "Patiently" on God..." You can only wait on a person you trust. Our patience while trusting God is a tool that propels God to bring the best out for us. Waiting on Him patiently won't make us compare ourselves with others or use others as a yield stick for the occurrences in our lives. No wonder, patience (long-suffering) is a fruit of the spirit, Gal. 5:22-23. We need to possess it while trusting God because His time differs from ours. When we trust Him for a request we need to wait patiently until He decides to make it possible. Be patient while trusting God for that request of yours. May God help us all to trust Him patiently, in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.

Good day and God Bless you.
