Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 41, Day 3 Tuesday, 8th October 2024 TOPIC: WALKING WITH GOD: Control Over Your Word (utterances) (3)

TOPIC: WALKING WITH GOD: Control Over Your Word (utterances) (3)

MEMORY VERSE:
Genesis 17:1
"1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless."

BIBLE READING:
Numb. 14:28.
"28 Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:"

Thinking Point:
The utterances of a believer should reflect Faith in Christ under any circumstances.

When we walk with God, the consciousness of His presence must be in our heart. The children of Israel knew God was with them, seeing all the miraculous signs and wonders they've experienced right from the land of Egypt to the wilderness. Provisions of water, food, strength and unexpected acts of God, despite all these, they lack the consciousness of controlling the words of their mouth. When situations arise, they spill out hurting words to God's servant. They speak carelessly without considering God's presence around them. Every child of God, who desires to walk with God, consistently needs to guard their utterances. Our utterance needs to be guarded with the consciousness of God with us.

He told Moses, "I heard the word of the Israelite, they spill out fear, destruction and disbelief in Me, so therefore, I've made it their request and it shall come to pass as they've said (Personal paraphrase).

When our mind is renewed, and our thoughts have been worked on, the words that should come out of our mouth should be edifying. It should be a word that heals and not hurts. God expects everyone who will walk with Him to guard the words of their mouth, towards their children, spouse, members, ministers, coworkers and loved ones. This season may be tough but God's presence should reflect our discussion. I shall not lack, I shall not be in need, I am blessed beyond the occurrences in the nation for my supplier is God not the economy of the nation. What you don't desire shouldn't be heard from you. Stop speaking fear, negative words and faithless words because God is right beside you. Bridle the word of your mouth daily, have control on what you say and your walk with God will be glorious. How positive are you with the words of our mouth? Let it reflect God's presence not His absence.
