Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 44, Day 6, Friday, 1st November 2024 TOPIC: TRUSTING GOD: Brings Positive Declaration (6)
TOPIC: TRUSTING GOD: Brings Positive Declaration (6)
MEMORY VERSE:
Proverbs 3:5-6.
"5. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
"6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
BIBLE READING:
Exodus 14:12-14.
'12. Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness."
"13. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever."
"14. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
Thinking Point:
Our trust in God propels us to declare positivity in negative circumstances even when you can't see through the wall.
One good thing about trusting God is the fact that, oppositions are always around, reasons to doubt God's presence present itself regardless of our faith and our walk with God. Most times when He is leading, we tend to face more dangers than when we were not obedient to Him. Situations present themselves that make things worse but in all, God is searching to know the level of our trust in Him. Our declaration in the face of trials, opposition and disappointment reveals the level of our trust in God.
Moses was called to lead the Israelite out of Egypt to the promised land but then, the Red Sea presented itself before them. Nowhere to turn to and behind them lay the enemy. What is next? The people raised their voices because of their lack of trust in God, insulted Moses for bringing them out of Egypt but Moses, who trusted God so well knew what God can do, although Moses has no idea of how it will be done but His declaration shows the level of His trust in God, then He declare,
"13. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever."
"14. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
What a level of trust in God! He was speaking as if God had instructed him on how to go about the Red Sea. Immediately after his word God spoke to him on what to do. The declaration of our trust in God hastens His response to us. The next verse showed Moses was asking God for the next direction and God said,
Exodus 14:15.
"15. And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:"
It shows Moses was yet to be instructed on what to do before positively declaring God's victory. Not until God speaks before we make a positive declaration, our trust in Him should reflect in what we say.
2 Chronicles 20:20-21.
"20. And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper."
"21. And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever."
When you go through this verse of the scripture, God never instructed Jehoshaphat to praise Him, No. It was the level of trust Jehoshaphat had in God that propelled the declaration, and at the end, God proved Himself. Your declaration and my declaration should prove the level of our trust in God. Your declaration says where your trust is. Before every declaration ask yourself, can God make this possible? Did I trust Him to make way in this wilderness? Let your trust in God determine your declaration from today on.
Good day and God Bless you.
