Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 46, Day 4, Wednesday, 13th November 2024 TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Listen and be sensitive to responses (4)

TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Listen and be sensitive to responses (4)

MEMORY VERSE:
John 6:6.
"6. And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do."

BIBLE READING:
John 6:7-9.
"7. Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little."
"8. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,"
"9. There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?"

Thinking Point:
Not all negative responses are to be neglected, positive news could be hidden in negative responses. Be sensitive.

The wisdom to see the good in every bad around our lives will be released upon us this week, we will see the positive in all negativity in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

Many believers are prey to negative responses and reports without being sensitive to see through the response. That colours are black doesn't mean white can't be found in it. That a man is bad doesn't mean something good cannot be found in him. We conclude too often and miss God's purpose for our lives. The story of the woman of Canaan in Matthew 15:22-28 is a very good lesson to learn from. Jesus compared her to a dog when she asked for healing for her daughter. But she was not deterred nor angry, she persisted and saw positivity in what Jesus was saying until Jesus was moved and granted her request. Most times, we give up so soon that we miss what God intended for our lives.

Jesus was asking for a solution from His disciples but two of them gave responses that looked negative, only Jesus saw the positivity in what Andrew, Peter's brother said. All that Jesus needed was small positive news which is what we also need for our lives to change for the better. He said,
"9. There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: BUT WHAT ARE THEY AMONG SO MANY?"

Jesus saw the positive statement not the negative statement and grabbed it. What are those words that so much hurt you that can be turned to your advantage? What are those reproach/ statements that cover the truth you are in need of? Abuse can be an eye opener if we can think well. Mockery can be that propeller we are in need of if we can sit and think through it. Be like Jesus that brings out something from nothing, multiple from little. It's time to reason and stop putting yourself In pitiable stage. Open your eyes and your ear to see the positive side of things, not the negative side.
