TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Avoid Waste Of Resources (10)

John 6:6.
"6. And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do."

BIBLE READING: 
John 6:12
"12. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

Thinking Point:
Jesus dislikes wasting resources from anywhere. Whatever He releases He wants it used diligently and wisely.

The Lord shall increase your might today, you shall do marvelously in your endeavours without regret in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

Our God loves releasing His blessings upon His children. His desire is to see His children blessed and be a blessing to others but His displeasure is wasting resources. When God made manna available for the children of Israeli, He gave them a command, 
"4. Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; AND THE PEOPLE SHALL GO OUT AND GATHER A CERTAIN RATE EVERY DAY, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
"5. And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily. -Exodus 16:4-5.

He pre-instructed them on a measure of what to take per day although the Israelite did disobey God's instructions which led to waste of manna. 

Jesus gave the same strict instruction to gather up the fragments that remained so that nothing be lost. Many believers choose to throw things away when it's of lesser value to them but can be useful to others. Wastage of food in the name of, "I bought it with my money", God isn't happy with waste. When we waste God's resources we lose the opportunity of earning more no matter how diligent we are. God's blessings are to be sown to lives, to meet needs and help the helpless. That you have in abundance isn't a reason to waste or withhold from those who need it. Leftover food can sustain many families, used clothes, shoes, chairs, and curtains can be given to those who need it, not necessarily selling them or throwing them away. How diligent are you when it comes to wastage of resources. Also, we don't need to go the extra mile to prove that we are against waste. Some do unimaginable things to those who waste their resources, like beating, denying them the opportunity of other things, we shouldn't take it too far to the extent of offending God. Everything needs to be done decently and moderately.
