Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 47, Day 5, Thursday, 21st November 2024 TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Our Acts Should Announce us (12)

TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Our Acts Should Announce us (12)

MEMORY VERSE:
John 6:6.
"6. And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do."

BIBLE READING:
John 6:14.
"14. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world."

Thinking Point:
Do you need to speak for yourself or do your actions speak for you? Our actions should let others know us better without our voice.

What the Lord has predestined for us for this month shall be released and handed over to us, even in arrears in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

There is a saying that, "Action speaks louder than voice", sometimes, silence speaks louder than what we should have said, this is the case of Jesus our Lord. We all remember this parable of our Lord,
"28. But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
"29. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went."
"30. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not."
"31. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you." - Matthew 21:28-31.

The first son was judged to do his father's will because his action spoke louder than His voice while the second's voice was louder than his action. Likewise, what is your action saying and what is your word saying?

With Jesus' action, those men recognised Him as the prophet to come, not what He said with His month. Before then, He has healed many different diseases and sicknesses, performed many miracles which don't move them like the miracle of multiplication. At this action, they concluded, He is the prophet to come. Beloved, one act, one show of love, one miracle or testimony can't announce us as Jesus representative but consistent actions. For our actions to speak louder than our voice it should be every moment habit, yes, we can't please all, but let's remember the word of our Lord Jesus which says,
"16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. - Matthew 5:16.

We need to focus on acting right regardless of who appreciates, accepts or rejects us. The most important thing is that all our actions should speak more positively than our voice. Our actions should speak of who we are, not the other way round. Jesus' miracle announced Him and the people confirmed. What are our actions saying about us? Do we claim to be who our action is not? Does our actions correlate with our words? Little talking but much action explains who we are better.
