Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 47, Day 7, Saturday, 23rd November 2024 TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Be Alone To Regain Your Status (14)
TOPIC: Studying John 6:1-15. Be Alone To Regain Your Status (14)
MEMORY VERSE:
John 6:6.
"6. And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do."
BIBLE READING:
John 6:15.
"15. When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, HE DEPARTED AGAIN INTO A MOUNTAIN HIMSELF ALONE.
Thinking Point:
Always fall back to remember who you ARE when men try to tell you who they think you are or who you should be.
Blessed be the Lord who has been with us this past week, who made things work out for His purpose and for our good, to Him alone be the glory forevermore.
It's been a journey of two weeks with the Studying of John 6:1-15. Many lessons the Lord has revealed to us beyond the feeding of five thousand men with five loaves of bread and two fishes, we give Him the praise for those revelations. Today, as we round it up, we need to always go back to God alone to ask more about ourselves. We need to always get new details from our maker when men showed us who they think we should be. Many conclude on what men said about them and that has landed them in jeopardy, destinies has been truncated, diverted, and purpose of God over their lives lost all because they flock with what people say about them. If their is anything we need to be sure of, that is what God said about us, our life purpose revealed to us by Him. You know sometimes in life we need to know what people say about us, their perspectives of us matters for us to know who we are flocking with. Jesus did when He asked His disciples and since then, He knew who to bring closer and who to sideline, Matthew 16:13-18.
When the crowd planned to make Him their king, Jesus didn't just changed direction but He went to be with God, like saying, "Father, they are thinking of making me a King is it part of your agenda for me here?". The scripture said, "He Departed Again Into A Mountain Himself Alone". Most times we hear what people say and start acting without asking God, or sit back and start crying because of people's intentions or perspectives about us, No, depart and go to God for clarification. Meet with God for a reminder of what He says compare to what men are saying. Jesus didn't left the mountain in a hurry until night when He met His disciples on the sea. When last did we visited God personal for confirmation of His word? When last did I be with God alone for hours? We will say our work won't allow us, so we've found it difficult to create time to be with Him. That was Jesus strength in His time, He keep going back to God alone, can we make it our habit too? At least one a week, once in two weeks, to just have a time with Him without TV, phone, family or work, then we will get more of Him and less of ourselves. This is to everyone reading today's devotional, myself inclusive. I pray the Lord gives us the strength to go back to Him regularly in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.
