TOPIC: QUALITIES OF KING SOLOMON: Solomon Acknowledges God's Faithfulness (5) 

MEMORY VERSE: 
2 Samuel 12:24
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: AND THE LORD LOVED HIM.

BIBLE READING: 
1 Kings 3:6.
6. And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

Thinking Point:

One of the reasons we haven't accessed God's attention is, not acknowledging Past Faithfulness of God over our lives.

I decree this morning, our testimony will not be obstructed anymore, everything, power, spirit, authority or human delaying that complete testimony, Today, heaven send them on an errand of no return in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.

One of those things that activates God to work in our lives is the ability to remind Him of what He's done in the past. When God wants to speak to His people in the days of old, He starts from what he has done in times past, He reminds the Israelite how He delivered them from the Egyptians and How He walked them through the wilderness, the provision He made available and the Victories He gave them. God praises Himself often when Men choose not to but when we praise Him by reminding Him of His past acts, He is motivated to do more, He feels like, "This son of mine acknowledges my act", that was the principle of King Solomon, He first of all acknowledged the work of God in the life of His father.


This Is the reason we make prayers of thanks giving first before we start interceding in churches. We give God Thanks for what He has done for us. We praise Him for who He is, How He is and where He is. We acknowledge His rulership in all our endeavours. We don't just walk to Him and start presenting our needs before Him, this was what Solomon knew. Despite God asking Him what He desires, he finds time to acknowledge the acts of God in His father's life, He was not in a hurry to prevent His request to God. Beloved, how do we present our request to God? Do we acknowledge Him or we lay down our request and leave His present? When was the last time we attended the praise and worship section at various services? Are we not there for just Miracle and to hear the word? When you haven't knocked on the door of a man's house, will you be expecting Him to open it up for you? We have to always acknowledge the rulership of God over our lives by mentioning His past faithfulness around our lives? Solomon summaries all that the Lord had down to His father before He could speak for Himself. Who are you acknowledging? Always start with what God has done, not what you want Him to do.
