Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 45, Day 3, Tuesday, 5th November 2024 TOPIC: GOD'S COMPENSATION: For Honouring Men Of God.(3)
TOPIC: GOD'S COMPENSATION: For Honouring Men Of God.(3)
MEMORY VERSE:
Joel 2:25.
"25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you."
BIBLE READING:
2 Kings 8:4-6.
"4. And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done."
"5. And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life."
"6. And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now."
Thinking Point:
Compensation Is Released When We Honour God's Servant With What We Have.
This week, your past seeds, help and hospitality shall provoke God's compensation in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.
God desires to compensate everyone for our actions but most times, those compensation are not what we all desire, and God is faithful, He will always give us according to our actions not our prayers. God compensate but what will He compensate you for? For doing good or evil? One Paramount attitude in the world is the habit of criticizing men of God. It's so rampant that even men of God criticize one another which in turn scattered the flocks. May God help Christianity in our days, Amen.
The shunamite woman is our focus today. This was a woman who had no children but was wealthy. In her days, she honoured Elisha by feeding him, clothing and housing Him. (Yes, she can't furnish a house without buying a cloth for him, I am very sure of that). She was rewarded with a son even at old age. One will think that is all she gets. But a double compensation came to her when there was a famine in the land. God's prophet told her, "There will be seven years of famine in the land, go and hide yourself in the land of the philistines and she did go". Brethren, if she was a hostile woman will she enjoy this privilege? No. Many years later, the seed she once sowed into Elisha's life was still at work. The famine ended and she returned home but found out that all her estate had been taken over and she had nothing again. She cried to the king, and behold, her case was the discussion between Gehazi and the King. The king hastened to listen to her and gave this verdicts concerning her.
"6. And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, (1). Restore All That Was Hers,
(2). And All The Fruits Of The Field Since The Day That She Left The Land,
(3). Even Until Now."
This is full compensation indeed. Restore her lands, and all the fruit for over seven years she left the land, all because she honoured a man of God several years ago. Did you quit in honouring God's servants because of what people say? I want you to know, God honours anyone who honours others for His name sake. There is compensation for honouring God servants, meeting their needs and being a blessing to them. Don't be weary in blessing ministers of the Gospel. That others bless them doesn't mean yours isn't needed. There's a huge compensation for reaching out to God's servant. Make this your habit and don't be distracted. If you've been doing this before now, don't be discouraged because your compensation is around the corner.
Good day and God Bless you.
