Mobile Daily Devotional with Pst. Oluboye Emmanuel Week 45, Day 6, Friday, 8th November 2024 TOPIC: GOD'S COMPENSATION: Forsaking All For Jesus (6)

TOPIC: GOD'S COMPENSATION: Forsaking All For Jesus (6)

MEMORY VERSE:
Joel 2:25.
"25. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you."

BIBLE READING:
Matthew 19:27-29.
"27. Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?"
"28. And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."
"29. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."

Thinking Point:
Forsaking all that matters to us to follow Jesus makes us a custodian of God's compensation.

Thank God It's Friday, before the day ends, we will be recognized for that which is ours this week, compensation for your services and commitment for the week shall locate us in Jesus' wonderful name, Amen.

Jesus called the disciples at the beginning of His earthly ministry, to follow Him and He will make them Fishers of Men. They left and did accordingly, following Him from places to places, villages to villages, nations to nations and from different races to another. They slept in uncomfortable places, walked around, left their families and went with Jesus daily. No personal work any more, rarely seen by their families and falls victims of criticism daily. One day, Jesus was teaching the multitude and made a statement by saying,
"23. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven."
"24. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. - Matthew 19:23-24.

Peter, the most outspoken of them all, was fearful of missing the Kingdom of God, he quickly asked Jesus, what is our reward for refusing to go after money and followed you for the past three years? Then Jesus replied, yours isn't like them, there are rewards and compensations for you that left all, that makes meaning to you and followed me. You, the twelve disciples, shall sit on twelve thrones to judge the tribes of Israel but others shall receive hundredfold of everything they let go here on earth because of me, and inherit the kingdom of God in heaven.

Brethren, I'm here to encourage you this morning that, following Jesus still have compensation here on earth not just in heaven. All that you think you've sacrificed for Jesus' sake will come tripping in folds here on earth if we keep following Him. You know why? You don't need Money, family, wealth and houses in heaven, it's here on earth you need them, and Jesus said, all will be restored in hundredfold to us, so we will get back all we think we've lost for God's sake before living here on earth. Don't be discouraged, God will never lie not forsake His word. You will be compensated at the appointed time don't quit.

Good Morning and God bless you.
